MINUTES OF SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

Date: 21st November 2024.

Time: 5.34pm.

Present: Sharlene McCormick, Chi Whitehead, Kim Semmens, Nik Massey, Greg Campbell, Michelle Dempsey.

Apologies: Nil

In Attendance: Anna O’Malley taking the minutes.

Chi Whitehead welcomed everyone to the meeting with a karakia.

Conflict of Interest Register (attached)

‍Actions taken: Reviewed. No conflict identified.

‍

Minutes from Last Meeting: Read as true and correct. Moved - Chi. Seconded - Nik. Carried / passed.

Matters Arising:

  • Shade Rm3 and Rm4: Mirror tinting quote being done next week.
  • Jim away until Jan 1st 2025.  Len is keeping the school running.
  • Library plan shown to Board.  We are getting a multi-purpose room. 
  • Drains to be fixed over EOY holidays.
  • Interest in PTA fence signs.

  • Baby barn to be moved to the grass by sandpit.  Ideas on how to move it discussed.

  • Unit holders reports read.

  • Term 4 completed in the October meeting.

General:

  • Budget for 2025: Reviewed and accepted.  
  • Teacher Aide’s PD will train in toe-by-toe next year.
  • Manaiakalani – ICT in schools group: Board agreed to move forward with this initiative in 2025.
  • New vision statement to start next year.
  • MoE will require Board to have goals around attendance, literacy, math.
  • Looking for skorts for kapa haka.
  • Board Xmas gifts - 22 staff.
  • Whanau Day 7 Feb 2025.   Good chance to get feedback from school community.
