MINUTES OF SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

Date: 22nd August 2024.

Time: 6.30pm.

Present: Sharlene McCormick, Greg Campbell, Chi Whitehead, Geva Downey, Kim Semmens.

In Attendance: Anna O’Malley taking the minutes.

Chi Whitehead welcomed everyone to the meeting with a karakia.

Welcome to new member Kim Semmens.

Actions taken: Reviewed. No conflict identified.

Minutes from Last Meeting: Read as true and correct. Moved - Chi. Seconded - Kim . Carried / passed.

Matters Arising:

• Second shade sails quote happening this week.
• Rongoa garden - Rural Design will help. Ruma 7 helping to design garden which will go by large oak tree at school entrance. Year 6 leavers to contribute new part each year.
• Kim applying to Grassroots for sports uniforms.
• Local artists keen to help with bus shelter mural 2025.
• Music room grant successful. 
• Board Training 5th September.
• Waiting on confirmation of visit from Anita at EdServices.

General:

• Kaipara Festival in Helensville.  School will provide buses for whanau.
• Time changed for Board meetings to 5.30pm.
• Discovery time discussed.
• Getting students ready for sports.  Guidelines needed from Bream Bay before events. Need sports gear and storage.
• Information about KiwiCan given to Board members.
