MINUTES OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING

Time: 6.30pm.

Present: Sharlene McCormick, Greg Campbell, Chi Whitehead (Presiding Chair), Bruce Leslie, Nik Massey

In Attendance: Anna O’Malley taking the minutes.

Chi Whitehead welcomed everyone to the meeting with a karakia.

‍

Minutes from Last Meeting: Read as true and correct. Moved - Chi / Nik.

Matters Arising:

• Security cameras: x1 installed, signs being displayed. Sharlene ensuring we meet legal requirements.  MoE may fund it with library build and asbestos removal.
• Look at remote gate locking in future.
• Chi and PTA looking at funding and design for sports uniforms.
• Accepted by Chi / Bruce.

Financial Report:

• Subscriptions over budget, moved incorrect charges (Lexia, writer’s toolbox, school docs).
• Tracking well financially.

Property Report:

• Pests and tree trimming.  Jim sorting.

Staff Report:

• Noho went well.
• Kaiako focusing on literacy theory through Kahui Ako.
• Garden to Table very successful, tamariki table manners improvement seen at noho.  Incorporating GTT and Matariki.
• SENCO board report T1
• BOT Report T1 - PE and Sport
• BOT Report T1 - PB4L
• BOT Report T1 - Maths

Principal’s Report:

• Claire finishing end of T1. No interest in SN teacher position.
• Kirsty Hunt new TA starting T2,Wk2.
• Greg helping Sharlene with Property (MoE).

General:

• Board make-up: Go to triennial elections.  5 x parent reps. Anna to find out when NZSTA elections are. Selection for Eden Worsfold. Board to discuss running a bi-election for 2 x members at next meeting.
• Chi Whitehead elected as presiding member.  Voted in and moved by Greg/Nik.
• Communication for whanau regarding events needs to improve.
• Chi and Greg to take tamariki to ANZAC Day at Hakaru.
