Date: 27th June 2023.

Time: 6.30pm.

Present: Sharlene McCormick, Courtney Cave, Nik Massey, Nicole Whitehead (co-op), Tam Asquith, Anita from Education Services.

In Attendance: Anna O’Malley taking the minutes.

Courtney welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Governance Report: 

Currently in a good financial position. Property Maintenance slightly higher. Reserves available. 

Minutes from Last Meeting: Read as true and correct. Moved - Nik / Courtney.

Matters Arising: 

  • Council drains being worked on.
  • Waiting on funding from MoE for top carpark - storm damaged. 
  • Still waiting for funding from MoE to repair leak in girls toilets.
  • School house getting brand new heat pump - old heat pump wrong size.
  • Goal post on field still up. Bruce to investigate.
  • School chickens are laying eggs now. Community member Hugh looking at doing green swap.
  • Security company know they cannot get in roof due to asbestos. MoE notified.  Awaiting decision.
  • Keeping cabin for another term.  Looking at turning resource room into working area for Kathy.

Financial Report:

  • Sighted and discussed with Anita from Education Services.

             

Property Report: 

  • No response from plumbers - very busy. Tam to get in touch with Wilson’s Plumbing to inspect water pumps.
  • School house ready for painting. Not started due to wet weather.
  • Anna to look at thermal imaging / mould detection for office area smell.

Staff: Unit holders reports:

  • Science kits successful - keep using.
  • Retaining wall and veggie garden - Bunnings will supply timber for free.  Need to source larger posts.  Needs drainage. School to buy drainage.  Construction - could make it a working bee.
  • Special Needs:  A.B. and M.J. leaving next year.  Will lose two Teacher Aide’s.

  • Literacy focus - tracking Maori students.  Using storytelling.
  • After School Care - Courtney to talk with Maungaturoto.
